- Location: Saint-Laurent, Québec
- Job Type: Contract
- Salary: CA$22 – CA$24
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Designer to join our innovative Electric Aircraft program. This role is central to the integration of high-voltage electric propulsion systems into existing aircraft platforms and supports flight testing activities through instrumentation design and system integration.
Advantages
Does the position allow for the worker to be virtual/remote?: No (must be on-site)
Will this resource require site access? If Yes, a Control Goods Certificate will be required. : Yes
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Design high-voltage power distribution systems for electric aircraft applications.
• Develop and route electrical harnesses to integrate battery systems and electric engines with existing aircraft infrastructure.
• Design and implement instrumentation packages to support flight testing, including sensor integration, data acquisition systems, and wiring.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and avionics teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
• Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Support system testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical designs both on the ground and during flight test campaigns.
• Ensure compliance with aviation standards and safety regulations.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Execute the complete audit process cycle—plan an audit, conduct an audit, report/communicate the results, and issue corrective actions if necessary. The types of audits primarily concern internal processes (manufacturing, regulation, internal policies) as well as external/supplier processes (QMS, design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, inspection).
Ensure product compliance with design requirements based on a quality plan—develop inspection and test standards, establish control points, supervise the inspection process, and process non-conformities through resolution plans.
Ensure the maintenance of manufacturing requirements—review, assign responsibility, and determine the material disposition of a non-conformity; conduct investigations to determine root causes and necessary corrective actions for material issues; update/develop the standards used to accept/reject parts; set up quality clinics.
Lead MRB (Material Review Board) meetings and provide necessary recommendations.
Execute quality audits in the Production area.
Validation and verification of manufacturing processes as well as qualification techniques.
Deployment of production measures to generate continuous improvement projects.
Identify opportunities for improvement—analyze data to find recurring issues using problem-solving tools (Ishikawa/Pareto/control charts, etc.); organize product/process improvement sessions.
