Pipeline Technician

    • Location: Gretna, Manitoba
    • Job Type: Contract
    • Salary: CA$23 – CA$32 / hour

    Job Summary:

    Assist PLM Technicians in a variety of field and shop duties related to pipeline maintenance and integrity. This is an entry-level position requiring a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with pigging operations.

    • Perform line locating services.

    • Aid in tie-in preparation and setup.

    • Perform day-to-day shop duties.

    • Maintain cleanliness of the shop, office, and trucks.

    • Work in excavations.

    • Assist with unbolting and bolting large flanges.

    • Participate in hoisting and rigging activities.

    • Travel to other locations to support other PLM crews.

    • Participate in emergency response preparedness.

    • Complete documentation and pre-use inspections.

    • Operate heavy-duty equipment, including skid steers, loaders, and one-ton pickers.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Role Requirements:

    • 0-3 years of experience in a related field (e.g., construction, oil and gas, mechanical).

    • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license is a strong asset.

    • Basic knowledge of common equipment and tools used in the pipeline industry.

    • Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills, procedures, and technologies.

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required to respond to emergencies, meet line scheduling demands, or complete outages and non-routine work.

    • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.

    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in outdoor conditions.
